Nate and Hallie set up there studio and large Woodfire kiln in 2000, in New Albin,IA. After a two year apprenticeship with Mark Hewitt, a well known pottery working in North Carolina. Began making their fine quality woodfired pottery based on the American woodfire tradition. They have since built a smaller tube kiln finished in May 2004 giving them greater flexibility in firing. Reid was an Educator for many years. No such thing as retiremaent for him. He has been hooked on wood fired ceramics and recently devoting more time to smaller tea ceremony pieces and Saki cups and bottles.
