Gallery: Jars Vases

Home  >  Current Work  >  Jars Tea Pots Et Al  >  Jars Vases

These one of a kind pieces are produced in small numbers (one to three per firing due to the size). They are slab built on a hand wheel and paddled into the shape I see at the time of making. The lips ares generally made from a hand thrown coil. Some of them have appendages to change the space around them. Most of the pieces have marks left from the making on their surface. Generally the jars are left to the firing for their final look, but some have white slip used to force a different look. I view these mainly as art pieces but they will hold water or other things.
